Updating your CV (2 places, now a reusable block so you only need to update it once):
- Take your personal information such as home address out of your Word doc and save it as a mod for web, save it as a PDF.
- Upload to the Media gallery, click on it, copy the URL.
- Update the link in the website navigation, in left sidebar Appearance > Menus. Expand the arrow beside CV, copy into the URL field, Save Menu.
- Open the Bio or home page and update the link within the page. Single click within the text twice to get the link panel to appear, click the pencil icon, delete the old URL and paste new. Save the page, upper right, Update. This will also save the reusable block.
Updating Books
In summary re: books, there are five reusable blocks: each “book-” block and the “books” block that gets pulled into the home page (note that this is not actually necessary since it is the only place used, currently). The individual book blocks are used 1) in the left columns on the Books page, 2) in each column of the “books” reusable block, and 3) they are floated right in a container on each topic page (when they want to be near the top with text wrapping). (On the Gender page, the reusable book is in the right column and not within a floated container.) On each Book Detail page, the right sidebar is done manually due to authors being listed and only the Purchase button needed.
For topic pages, to float the “book-” with buttons reusable block to the right of text and have the text wrap, the reusable “book” block needs to be placed inside a container that is floated right. When the container block is selected, expand “Advanced” in the right sidebar near bottom, and type “book floatright” in the Additional CSS class(es) field.
I am not happy that some things can’t be displayed better in the editor without a lot of trouble and time. The reusable “book” block is one of these quirks; it does not appear floated, but is.
Updating Awards Table
To add a new row, click into the table where you want to add the new row (such as in the first row to add a row at the top), click the second icon from the right, insert row above. Then add your content.
